Film Analysis:

Kaden Prather is a big-bodied target that touts an attractive combination of size and burst to threaten different types of coverage. A former transfer to College Park from West Virginia, Prather is a pass-catcher who touts the size you look for in a featured weapon at the next level, yet does not have the correlating traits that showcase a prospect that will be heavily featured within an NFL architecture.

Prather has strong hands and is explosive off the line of scrimmage to eat up space in zone coverage, but has an unrefined game as a route-runner. Natural hands-catcher and does well to work back to the ball, but will round out digs and leave the ground with both feet to set up the top of the stem. He’s often out-muscled on 50/50 opportunities in the intermediate areas despite his size.

His speed showcases when working on crossers over the middle of the field where he can pull away from defenders due to his long stride. His 4.46 40 is a fine time at his size, and there are times when he looks quicker on tape. With the ball in his hands, Prather is a physical finisher who searches for extra yards. Showcased a sudden double-move at times in his career where his head, hips, and feet, aligned to create separation over deep-third.

Concerns remain about his game in regards to run blocking and the finer nuances in his release package as a larger player. Prather leaves much to be desired, especially for someone with his frame. He will engage with defensive backs but nothing more—increased strength will assist in multiple areas.

Overall, Prather touts an intriguing skill set where fine-tuning the small details of his game and getting stronger could see him earn targets at the next level as his requisite combination of size and burst will intrigue NFL teams.
